New born babies could soon be swapping breast milk for Milky Bars, after NHS staff told mothers to feed their babies junk food, in a bid to stop feeding problems.

Fliers handed to new parents by Poole Hospital NHS Foundation Trust recommended feeding chocolate, crisps, fried foods and sugary sweets to children over the age of eight months.

The guidance is aimed to help children with ‘problems managing lumpy foods’.

The leaflets categorise the junk food under three headings: Easy Chew Food, Bite and Dissolve and Squash/Suck.

Hmm....🙄

They are 8 months old, not newborn. That IS after you start to wean and give your infant more than 'just' milk anyway. And you SHOULD provide different textures for them to try, anyway, then.

Not quite so sure about crisps though !
