NHS staff have stepped up to improve their own health ? completing nearly 47,000 miles on foot.
Employees from Northern Lincolnshire and Goole Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust completed a 16-week Global Corporate Challenge (GCC), an initiative which encourages workers to improve their health and wellbeing by wearing a pedometer to measure their daily steps.
Over the weeks, 84 participants formed into 12 teams and came up with their own unique ways to clock up as many steps as possible.
Mark Hinkley and Darren Marshall, from the trust's finance department, ran the Great North Run with their pedometer while Lyanne Thain, also from finance, walked the Viking Way in North Lincolnshire covering 148 miles.
