NHS should be excluded from TTIP, Cumbernauld’s MP says

CUMBERNAULD, Kilsyth and Kirkintilloch East’s man at Westminster has said that his party will ‘say no to TTIP in our NHS’.

Gregg McClymont, Cumbernauld, Kilsyth and Kirkintilloch East’s Labour Member of Parliament has said that the NHS is simply “too important to be put at risk” by the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership.

The Partnership, which is referred to by some at TTIP is a proposed partnership between the European Union and the United States of America that would aim to knock down trade barriers between the EU and America.

sorry to ask but what is TTIP

It's a huge trade deal between the EU and the USA. All negotiations are in secret and the fear is that it can end up with US companies being able to sue the British Government if they can't compete in things like the NHS (put very basically!). Basically, corporations getting an even bigger grip on the way the world is run
