The NHS is "heading seriously downhill" thanks to David Cameron, with thousands more patients waiting longer than six weeks for cancer tests, the shadow health secretary has said.
Figures show that around 11,000 patients are facing a wait of more than a month for vital tests for bowel, stomach, brain and ovarian tumours, more than double the number last year.
Labour MP Andy Burnham has blasted the fall in standards and says it is "more proof" that the Tories are running the health service into the ground.
He added: "Every day, yet more evidence emerges showing an NHS heading seriously downhill under David Cameron.
