A BLIND man who died after he was dumped on his doorstep in the middle of the night by hospital staff in Kirkcaldy has been sent a taxi bill for his journey.
Kenneth Graeme Aitken, 66, died of a suspected heart attack in March after being sent home from the Accident and Emergency department at the town’s Victoria Hospital wearing his pyjamas after being given a packet of paracetamol.
His widow, Wendy, has now been sent a bill for £25.30 by NHS Fife to cover the taxi fare.
The demand letter to the dead OAP gave him the option to “pay in person”.
