TEENAGER Ethan Cottingham is celebrating being allowed to go back to school after missing nearly an entire year of education.

The 14-year-old, of Pool Street, Newcastle, needs constant supervision as he has a tube in his throat from tracheostomy surgery he had when he was a baby.

If the tube comes dislodged or blocked, he could stop breathing.

But the youngster was forced to miss around nine months of his schooling at NCHS The Science College after a series of delays with his care plan.
