WATCHDOG groups fear people in North Staffordshire will be left so confused by the huge number of changes to the NHS on a single day they may lose out on care.
And doctors have warned that bewildered patients will besiege the area's main A&E after becoming baffled by sweeping national reforms and key differences to local services all coming in on April 1.
The day will see North Staffordshire's two primary care trusts replaced by GP-led clinical commissioning groups as the main NHS funding and monitoring bodies after ministers pressed ahead with controversial reforms.
But on top of that, the way local people get urgent medical care at nights and weekends will alter with the closure of the out-of-hours surgery at Basford which has served the population for more than 20 years.

It has struck me before that it can't just be coincidence that the NHS main changes are coming in on that date ......
