The NHS in Devon has been accused of the ?willful destruction? of farmland which is home to a nationally important population of cirl buntings.

The RSPB levelled the claim against the landowners, the Devon Partnership NHS Trust, in a written formal letter of complaint, after hedges were cut and stubble removed at Hillcrest site, near Exminster.

The charity said it was ?livid? and that the habitat had been ?destroyed?
