My GP rang today following an email I'd sent them regarding my review, which was due at the end of May. As I assumed, she said they were slowly getting back to normal, and concentrating on the more serious health cases first. She wasn't unduly concerned about me as I had good control 🙂.
Anyway, after a chat she saw that the healthcare assistant (a lovely and capable girl), T, was free Friday morning and could do my blood test, urine test, BP, feet tickling etc., and that I could have a phone chat with D, the diabetic nurse, when the test results were back. Yippee! That saves me a bus ride to the hospital - and T used to do the blood tests anyway until they changed their routine. I also have good BP when she does it
.
I hope my retinal screening will still be happening in September - a friend had hers cancelled in April and hasn't heard anything since...
