Hi @Kaz1963 and welcome to the forum. Whilst there is no guarantee that you can turn things round by diet changes, the odds are pretty good that you will be able to. Check around the forum and the learning zone and get to understand what it is all about and we are all here to help you sort things out.

How did you come to be diagnosed?

Welcome to the forum @Kaz1963 I am glad that you have found us

It is great that you have set out a plan for how you want to manage this. As you want to focus on diet, it is important to get to grips with the amount of carbs there are in what you are eating. These all (not just sugars) get changed into glucose once inside us, and so impact on our blood glucose levels.

It will help if you start to look at the labels in foods that you eat And look to see if you can make swaps to lower carb options and/or reduce portion size. This along with being more active can bring your glucose levels down. The amount of change you will need will depend on what your starting point was at diagnosis. Do you know what your results were in numbers? This can help us in our responses to your questions.

Read around the forum and come back with any questions that you have.

Reducing carbs seems to have helped me and my favourite is cauliflower rice /mash. Cheaper breakfast - yogurt and fruit (use frozen or to toned to reduce waste).this site has ideas. Good luck
