Relationship to Diabetes

Hi i found out some 4 weeks ago and am very confused as i get different information from different diabetic nurses!
 
Hi Karen Welcome it is easy to get confused with Diabetes and a lot of information to take in and I'm sure things will settle.We have a wide range of people who are willing to help if they can.
 
Hi Karen, welcome to the forum 🙂 Diabetes can be a very individual thing, as no doubt you will come to discover in time. There are, however, some basic guidelines that can be helpful to begin with.

Maggie Davey's letter to newly diagnosed Type 2s is a good starting point:

A highly recommended book for newly-diagnosed Type 2s is Type 2 Diabetes: The First Year by Gretchen Becker (amazon link).

hi and welcome to the forum karen. im still learning myself but there is alot of great people on here who will be able to answers any questions you might have, the forum has helped me understand alot of things. 🙂 xxx
 
Hi Karen and welcome. I know how confusing it can be in the early days, I'm still learning myself. But there's usually someone around here who's had a similar experience and can give you the support you need. No question is too stupid, so don't be afraid to ask, whatever it is, we'll try to help.

It will be difficult at first while you get to grips with everything. But eventually you will work out your own regime and can pick and choose advice which fits your circumstances.

Hi Karen, welcome and join the club!

I learned a lot from this forum and getting some books out of the library as recommended by this site. I bought one called "Diabetes for Dummies" and I pick it up and read different sections every now and then. I can talk to the doctors and nurse and ask questions and debate the answers based on the knowledge I have acquired from here.

So much to learn though at first I felt my head was in a spin.

Ask any questions, everyone on here is patient and no question is daft.

Hello and welcome karen, im newly diagnosed type 2 also and found this to be a great site fer info with great peeps who can help with there experiences of diabetes so ask away and keep posting 🙂
