@rebrascora and @Anitram, my apologies of my reply was critical, that wasn't my intention

No worries here either. If anything I was concerned that you might think my response was critical of you being started on insulin straight away. Diagnosis and treatment is a bit of a lottery depending on your GP practice and perhaps postcode.
I am just so grateful that I was assumed Type 2 and as a result, learned how to eat low carb as I think this is hugely beneficial for both my physical and mental health as well as my diabetes management.
