Type 2
Hi

Just got back from the doctor where I was told that I have Type 2 diabetes, bit of a shock but not totally unexpected as most of my family are diabetic.

Would be good to chat to others in the same position.

Have a good day

Anne

Hi Anne, welcome to the forum 🙂 Sorry to hear about your diagnosis, but it is good that you have found us so quickly. There are lots of friendly, experienced people here who will be happy to answer any questions you may have, so whatever may be worrying or confusing you, please let us know 🙂

Can I recommend some reading material that our members have found very useful? Have a read of Jennifer's Advice and Maggie Davey's letter, and I would also recommend getting a copy of Type 2 Diabetes: The First Year by Gretchen Becker.

Have you been given any medication for your diabetes, and a blood glucose meter so that you can monitor your levels at home?

Welcome to the forum Annek1952 / Anne 🙂

Hi Anne and welcome. 🙂 Chat away!😛

Hello, and welcome :D

Hi Anne. I'm about a year on from t2 diagnosis. The stalwarts of this'd site are an excellent source of support and knowledge and no question is ever treated as a daft question.

Good luck with getting to gripz with t2 - I suppose diagnosis will always be a shock but hopefully you can get to grips with it in the new year.
Best wishes John

Welcome, you've found a great place here for help and support

Hi Anne. Welcome to the forum. Happy new year now that you have found this helpful site.

Hello Anne, welcome to the forum. Diagnosis is a huge shock, but this forum has lots of super people on it and everyone is really friendly and will give you brilliant information. I was diagnosed just over two years ago out of the blue. Now I have reasonable control and am well thanks to this forum. Please ask anything that you want to know. Take care 🙂
