Hi to all fellow diabetes uk followers , may we all help each other along this journey with a smile 🙂

Hi and welcome.
may we all help each other along this journey with a smile 🙂
What a lovely thought and that is very much what the forum is about although we are allowed the odd day when a frown is all we can manage, as diabetes can be fickle and frustrating sometimes, but mostly I manage to smile. :D

Have you decided on which dietary approach you are going to take?
Do you have much/any weight to lose?
Have you considered self testing of your Blood Glucose (BG) levels to help you to see how your body reacts to particular foods and meals? Many people here find self testing very empowering, especially when they are just using diet (and perhaps exercise) to manage their diabetes. It effectively allows you to "see" your diabetes in numbers when it can otherwise be quite invisible. We often compare not testing to driving a car without a speedometer.... you don't really know how effectively you are managing your speed or BG levels and can sometimes get a nasty surprise when a speeding ticket or higher HbA1c result catches you out.

Welcome to the forum @hohum 🙂
