Hi, Nicky. Sorry to hear that but welcome to the Forum. How were you diagnosed - routine blood test or were you having symptoms? What happens next depends on your HbA1c. Did they tell you what it is?
Did it come as a complete surprise? Or have you been feeling a bit off-colour for a while? Was it detected at a routine health check? Or had you gone to the Drs because of symptoms you have been experiencing?
Were you given the result of your HbA1c? This can help you understand how difficult your metabolism has been finding things. Have you been offered any medication at this stage? And do you have a follow-up appointment booked? eg with the diabetes nurse at your GP practice?
