Hi and welcome to the forum. I have a type 1 son, diagnosed 8 years ago aged 4. Feel free to ask any questions you may have!

How did you come to be diagnosed, and what insulin regimen are you on?

I would recommend you get a copy of this book (it's a fabulous easy-to-read guide to type 1, not just for children and young people) :

Welcome to the forum Godders 🙂

Hi Godders, welcome to the forum 🙂 Sorry to hear about your diagnosis, but glad you found us - there are lots of friendly, experienced people here who will be able to answer any questions you may have. As suggested, Type 1 Diabetes in Children, Adolescents and Young People is invaluable, so do try and get hold of a copy. There are lots of links to sources of good information in our Useful links thread so have a browse through that.

Let us know how things have been going for you, and if we can help in any way 🙂

Hi Godders, you have joined a good site with some nice people in it. 😎

Hi Godders ,

Sorry to hear about your diagnosis but you have come to the right forum for great advice and support. Good luck with everything.🙂

Godders,

Hi and a warm welcome to the forum.

Welcome - just ask and we'll try to help. Others who were diagnosed with type 1 diabetes as adults can help particularly, but all will answer, whatever the issue - medication, diet, acitivity, sports, driving, travel, insurance etc 🙂
