Hello Tash and welcome to our exclusive club 🙂 You are def not alone so don't ever think you are.

It's manageable - I am also new and was diagnosed 4 months ago! Insulin, three pops a day, metformin, two a day.. and had 3 weeks of being almost blind, which is how I discovered I had diabetes. My blood sugar was 43 🙂 After three months, blood is 7.00 usually, eat what I've always eaten but did finally manage to stop smoking. I was never a sickly person, never visited doctors, so this was quite a hit. I think the best way to approach it is not to let it dominate your life - make some simple dietary changes and you'll be fine.

welcome

You have found a good place. Welcome Tash from a t1 for more than 50yrs 🙂
