Relationship to Diabetes
Type 1
Hi All,
I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes a few weeks back. My periods have been regular for about four years now, I got my last period 2days early last month (on the day I was discharged from hospital) and now I'm four days late. There is no way I could be pregnant.

Just wondering if this has happened to anyone else? Bit lost. No sign at all.

Hey there I can only tell you my experience but just before I was diagnosed a few months back my periods went a bit do lally. It could be that yours have just decided to do it now while your insulin is kicking in

Well - if you're anything like me, you've been getting severely dehydrated for some time, your blood glucose has been turning to acid, your cells have been starved of glucose .........

Funnily enough, it's probably just as much trauma to your body as being run over by a truck, except no physical injuries to show for it.

Now if you had been run over by an artic, you'd expect weird things to happen for a bit, really, wouldn't you?

Your body will sort itself out again as it gradually gets back a bit nearer normal. May take a few cycles though so don't worry if it isn't instant!

Hey, I was diagnosed at the end of June this year and it took two months for mine to come back!
My doctor said to me that when your body goes through anything that un balances things like stress or a cold your period is normally the first thing to go. And with diabetes, when your first diagnosed, it has really thrown your body off balance =).

Dont worry about it things will eventually go back to normal! x
