Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
My big toes went numb, and my blood test was 18.5m/Mol (333)
so I stopped all carbs and sugar (20 carbs a day max)
I bought a self test kit, 10 days ago my sugars were around 10 m/mol (180)
now today I am hitting 5 to 6.5 (90-117)
got down to 5.1 (92) after a meal yesterday
so I am very happy with how I am going
meals consist of bacon or sausage and eggs breakfast
11am is tuna, salmon or chicken salad
2pm is lunch which is usually chicken and green veggies
dinner about 8pm chicken fish or prawns or a small steak mushrooms
eating a lot of
Mushrooms, Broccoli, asparagus, cauliflower, onion, lettuce, brussel sprouts garlic and eggs
a cup of tea is now half tea half milk and cream
I also have a tablespoon of olive oil and cinnamon every morning
also taking Alpha Lipoic acid tablets for nerve health

I go for a run twice a day, and swim at the beach (if the waves are good)

Diet is everything and exercise and stretching. I can reduce my BG by 1m/Mol (18) by just going for a walk and then stretching for 5 mins
go very low carb or as my doctor said "smash this hard"

anyway thanks for reading all the best to everyone

Welcome David
You are doing fantastically well.
Low carb diet is the key for many of us.
I have never thought about having a tablesoon of Olive oil each day.
You should feel very proud indeed.
Keep posting and let us kow your progress.

Thanks vince, the olive oil is for my heart, nothing wrong with my heart, olive oil is high in monounsaturated fat which is the good fat and good for the veins

Going to try that David, I take a Vitamin D, Garlic pearl, Cod liver oil capsule and a Macushield daily. I will add that to my daily routine.

I use a lot of olive oil & love my oily fish.🙂

I was Olive picking in Cyprus. We went to the olive press with our Ton sacks & watched the oil come out the other end. They had toasters for sliced bread which everyone was using. I regularly have on a morning. Fresh bread, good olive oil & Lemon. 😎

Welcome David and well done on getting a grip on your BG so quickly!
I too consume a fair quantity of olive oil, though mainly in the form of dressing on salads. We bring a few litres back from Greece every year as we've a friend who gives us extra-virgin oil that is 100% organically grown with no pesticides. We've just exhausted it, so are now reduced to buying it from the supermarket and it doesn't quite have the same taste or aroma :-(
