Hi Stargirl, welcome to the forum
🙂 Sorry to hear about your diagnosis, but it's good that you have found us so quickly - there are lots of friendly, knowledgeable people her that will be happy to help with whatever questions you may have (no question is considered 'silly', so ask away!).
I would suggest having a browse of our
Useful links thread. In particular, I would recommend reading
Jennifer's Advice and
Maggie Davey's letter, and if you can, get hold of a copy of
Type 2 Diabetes: The First Year by Gretchen Becker. These are all excellent resources recommended by many of our members.
It can seem very overwhelming at the start, but the good news is that things will get easier, you will start to feel much better, and there is no reason why, with a bit of hard work, you shouldn't be able to manage your diabetes well
🙂 Many people find that their diagnosis has led to them feeling fitter and heathier than they have felt for years, hopefully the same will be true for you. Are you on any medication?
