🙂 Sorry to hear about your diagnosis, but the good thing is that, now you have been diagnosed, you can begin to make the necessary modifications to your diet and activity levels to improve your diabetes management. From what you have said it sounds like you may already have some ideas of how you could improve things!

There are some very good links in there that will give you a good grounding in what to expect - the book by Gretchen Becker is very highly recommended by our members here.
There is a lot to take in, but don't feel you need to know it all straight away. Take your time to absorb the information and take things one step at a time. If you have any questions or concerns, please ask and we'll try our best to help out
🙂 I hope the appointment with the nurse goes well, let us know how it goes! It would be worth asking for a blood glucose meter and strips so that you can use it to learn the best way to modify your diet - they might be reluctant to give you one, but it really is the best way to build a picture of which foods are OK for you and which are not.
