Hi Turkey68 welcome to the forum 🙂 Have you been diagnosed long and are you on any medication? If you are newly-diagnosed I'd recommend having a look in our Useful links thread for some good pointers. If you have any questions, please ask! 🙂

Ah, you'll have a lot to take in then. Try not to get overwhelmed by all the information thrown at you, it can be confusing and very hard to remember it all. If you are confused, worried or confounded about anything, just ask and we will try to help out. No question is considered 'silly', so whatever it is we will be happy to try and help you out.

A very good book that will help explain what to expect is Type 2 Diabetes: The First Year by Gretchen Becker, which many of our members have found immensely valuable, so well worth getting a copy. Your local library may have copies in stock, or it's only a few pounds to buy.

Hope your appointment this afternoon goes well, let us know how you get on! 🙂

thank you very much i will let you know later how i get on ...it good to know there is site like this as it saves keep hassling doctors all time..speak to you later

Welcome Turkey68 - don't feel like you're hassling doctors, but do make sure you take a list of questions, plus paper & pen to note down answers at each appointment. Plus, other healthcare professionals eg diabetes specialist nurses, dieticians, chiropodists / podiatrists, opticians etc can be more suitable in some situations than doctors, who also come in many varieties! 🙂

Hi Turkey68 and welcome aboard. I hope all goes well with your appointment this afternoon. Come back and ask us anything you are unsure about. I look forward to getting to know you better. XXXXX

Welcome to the forum 🙂

Hi, welcome to the forum🙂.

Hi Turkey68, how did your appointment go today - I hope you are not too over-burdened by information. This forum is very friendly and its members are great at helping with ideas, comments and (sometimes very silly) thoughts. It's populated by people who actually LIVE with diabetes 24/7 and not professionals who want to tell us how to run our lives !

Come back sometime and tell us what's been happening to you. 🙂
