Hi all. Have started to soet myself out, having been sugar addicted. Cut out all baddies over past month, feel much better. Planning to start newcastle plan soon, but not sure if there are any medical contraindications. I know gp wont have a clue, so need some advice.

My first thought is do you actually need to do that?
I have had a lifetime of being pushed to eat low calorie diets, and it hasn't done me any good, just slowed down my metabolism and if I fast for too long, my energy levels drop like a stone.
If you are doing well by keeping your calories up and carbs down I would really recommend keeping things going like that. From personal experience just after diagnosis, it is possible to lose weight just by keeping blood glucose levels in the normal range and getting back a zest for life.

Welcome to the forum @cloistergirl .
I am sorry but I have no experience of the Newcastle Diet, but hope that someone will be along who has.

Do keep the questions coming.
