Welcome to the forum. When were you diagnosed and are you taking any medicine to manage your diabetes?

I was diagnosed five weeks ago, although I have been pre-diabetic for a year. Yes, have been prescribed medication which I faithfully take every day. I am following a diabetic diet and already, I feel the benefits of the diet. I miss my pasta though. I have tried whole wheat pasta without much success. Must try harder. Thank you for responding to my posting.

Any particular kind.. there are many after all and some appear to be far more effective than others..

I use the Mediterranean diet. I also do not munch between meals and my last meal of the day is around 6:00pm. If I do feel hungry, I eat a tomato or a dried apricot. It is a distraction method. LoL.

Good to hear you have found a system that works for you. Have you seen any impact on your levels from the changes you've made to your menu yet?

The much reduced calorific intake has helped in my weight loss. My distraction strategy is working (I either take a few sips of pink grapefruit juice, or munch on one dried apricot). Generally, I sip of the grapefruit juice. I am fortunate that I have always been able to bend over and touch my toes with my fingers. Now I can do that putting my flat hand on the floor. Good confidence building methinks.🙂
