Hi and welcome.

Yes, we all know that feeling at first diagnosis but it does get easier.
Would you like to tell us a bit about how you came to be diagnosed and what if any medication you have been prescribed for it? Also, do you know your HbA1c result? This is the blood test which is used to diagnose diabetes and will usually be a number in excess of 47 to get you a diagnosis. It gives us an idea of how far into diabetes territory your body has strayed and will help us to give you more appropriate advice/guidance.

Please make yourself at home here. The more you can learn about diabetes and how it affects your body, the better placed you will be to manage it well or perhaps push it into remission. Please feel free to ask anything that you need to know or don't understand.

I have PCOS and was diagnosed with pre diabetes last year with my sugar level at 48%, then got it down to 43% but it's back up again at 48, this time they put me on the register as diabetic. I have been recently also been diagnosed as high blood oressure and high cholesterol. I also have a lot of other health issues and a carer for my husband xx

With the advice on here you should be able to reduce your diabetes worries. If you are a type 2 like me, then weight loss and low carb eating habits can turn it around. I used the newcastle diet and low carb measured on myfitnesspal every day. You could try that or look at the freshwell app which is recommended by many.

Welcome to the forum @Katieroseanne

Sounds like your HbA1c is at the lower end of the scale, and you have done well to manage your blood glucose levels before.

It seems likely that some fairly modest tweaks to your menu, cutting right back on the obvious sweet and sugary things, and then a little moderation and portion-control with your carbohydrates will really help.

Keep going! We are rooting for you 🙂
