Hi there @Littlefeet and welcome! How did your diagnosis come about? Knowing a little about you will help us tailor advice for your questions.

Welcome to the forum @Littlefeet

How has it been going so far?

Were you told your HbA1c result? This can help you understand how far into ‘diabetes territory’ you are, and how significant the changes are that you may need to make to your menu.

Several new members have found Maggie Davey’s Letter to the Newly Diagnosed or Gretchen Becker’s book T2 Diabetes, the first year, a very helpful starting point.

There are plenty of useful threads here that you can delve into too (the Useful links thread in the Newbies section is a mine of information). Plus you can ask any questions you have, so don’t hold back. Nothing will be thought of as too obvious or ‘silly’.

all came about because i wasnt feeling well and tought i may have a thyroid problem. dr has put me on a slow release metformin and into the 2nd week of 2 per day. horrible side effects through. j

Is it the gastric upset you are experiencing? Some members have found that this settles down after a few weeks, but it does seem that some have a more severe reaction than others :(

Hope things settle for you
