What a frightful word "newbie" is! Must be my age.
I have been Type 1 for 25 years. Now in my mid 70s.
Family home in North London.
Recent poor experience with CGM system and new test strips encouraged me to sign up and share my thoughts.

Welcome to the forum Patrick.
Would you be using Libre? Others on here have experience of that.

Hi Ralph,
I used the Libre for about 3 years before changing to the Dexcom G6 earlier this year.
Happy to answer questions or comment on both systems.

Hello and welcome @Patrick S. glad you've joined us 🙂

Which system have you been having a poor experience with, Libre or Dexcom 6? I use Medtronic cgm so can't comment on either of those but there are a fair few Libre users and I think a few Dexcom 6 users who will hopefully be along to compare notes.

Hi and welcome from me too.

I am relatively new to Diabetes (diagnosed in Feb this year) and haven't tried CGM yet but would like to. My own funds would only stretch to it for a few months, so I would be interested in your experience of those 2 systems. I assume you self funded since I don't believe the Dexcom G6 is available on the NHS. Which would be your preference or do you prefer finger pricking and if so, why? Very much appreciate any input you can give.
