Relationship to Diabetes
Type 1
Hi. My name is Kevin and I have just joined. I am 61 and have had Type 1 for 21 years. Unfortunately I have a few other chronic health issues and they all seem to affect my Diabetes making blood glucose control a nightmare.

They always do Mulligan - can't escape it so just have to try and find ways round it that you personally can live with because the fact is unless we keep the D battened down properly - none of the other conditions is going to go the extra mile to improve.

Hence I definitely do it for ME and I'm very selfish about that LOL

Mind you - it's very often worth asking on the forum has anyone ever had T1 and (eg) Beriberi, if so how did you handle it? - and seeing if anyone has !

Welcome Mulligan
There is plenty of help available on here from people with loads of practical suggestions. Worth asking anything. I have learnt most of what I know from people on here.

Hello, I have been a t2 since 2017, I am finding it hard to come to terms with it all, Ihave changed my diet but I don't feel like I'm getting the right support.

I get you, I’m on permanent steroids to control duff lungs, also got dodgy kidneys and a mildly dramatic liver. It’s such an uphill battle, all I can suggest is to really utilise all the amazing help here, get a meter, and test.
