Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
morning all, I was diagnosed type two a couple of year ago but I supposed I buried my head in the sand and didn’t really do anything about it until I got a kick up the back side in April when my HbA1c came back at 96, so todate I’ve lost 30lbs on a sort of low carb diet and yesterday I had my HbA1c result which was 44. I have yet to go to my next diabetic visit with the practice nurse but hoping that this has gone in the right direction as don’t know what is the best level to be at so would welcome some advice - thanks

Well done! It certainly has gone in the right direction - diabetes isn't now diagnosed until the HbA1c level is 48 or above, so yours is likely lower now than it was originally. Just demonstrates how much limiting the carb intake can assist people, doesn't it?

To be honest I haven’t stuck to low carb 100% as have travelled quiet a bit but inbetween trips I have tried and also have maintained smaller portions which has helped not just me but my husband as well. Low carb isn’t easy but does work as you say
