Hi , was just diagnosed on Thursday so had a week from hell, I only went to doctors with a headache and blurred vision and was sent to hospital With a blood suger of 23.9, had no other symptoms. So now I'm type 2 diabetic. Have been put on Gliclazide 40mg for three weeks
Metformin 500mg 1 a day for 7 days then 2 a day. Checking blood 6 times a day for three weeks but readings are all over the place can be anything from 6 to 23. Today is my best day so far so maybe medicine starting to work
Before breakfast 9.9 - 2hrs after 11.6
Before lunch 10.9 - 2hrs after 8.1
Before evening meal 6.0 - 2hrs after 10.6
After lunch started to feel strange light headed and feeling sick with a really bad headache again, and when I checked before my tea it was the lowest ever of 6 so was wondering if that what's making me feel ill. I Must say it's only day 6 and I'm so fed up of feeling ill and just want it to go away, don't want it anymore

Yes, the rapid drop in blood sugar is likely to be why you felt ill this afternoon - it's better for you when readings go down gradually than when they plummet. It sounds like you are going in the right direction generally though, and you will feel a lot better when all your readings are around 6 🙂
