Hi, just joined, diagnosed at the beginning of October, with a score of 62, received the letter and immediately went into panic, read as much as possible on the internet and had some questions answered on a different forum, started a low carb diet with low calorie intake and have so far lost some weight, feel a bit of a fraud as i do not feel ill, with the weight loss i feel better than i have for a long time, sleeping better with more energy. i refused meds and wanted to try exercise and diet, which my nurse thought was dubious, i have been checking my blood regularly and so far its been quite low, hopefully it all will result in a lower test score in the new year.

Hello @russgee , welcome to our friendly forum. Feel free to ask questions we’ll do our best to help.
A number of people on here manage their diabetes well by diet and exersize I hope you will be able to as well without finding the diet too restrictive/difficult.
It would be lovely to see the look of amazement on your nurses face at your next review.

Welcome to the forum russgee. Well done on getting your condition under control. Could you give us some details. Your weight loss sounds significant - what were you at diagnosis and what are you now?
