Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
Hi I'm Andrew ,
Diagnosed 3 years ago with type 2 103 hba1c. Given metfomin Sr 3 months later I'm 44 and then again 44 6 months after that.
I drink 5 to six pints after work every night, but didn't eat any bread, rice, pasta etc.
I've since slipped and in the last 12 months had chips and potatoes I've got a hsba1c test on the fourth.should be interesting.
However the reason for the post is I had a free style libre mid November and running up to Christmas ave glucose was 9.9
A bit high .
Since January 4 I've had very little carbs no alcohol and interstinly no medication .
On the libre since then ave glucose is 7.4.
. I'm happy with little or no carbs in food.
But I love beers after work and golf on a Saturday and Sunday.is there a better beer out there with less carbs?
Just a little about me.

Hi Andrew, welcome to the forum 🙂 Good to hear you have got to grips with things and are bringing your levels under control 🙂 Can't recommend any particular beer I'm afraid, it can be very much down to individual tastes and tolerances, so you may need to experiment a bit and review the evidence (in moderation, of course! 😉)

Hi and welcome to the forum. Great to hear you are talking control of your BG.

No help on the beer front I am afraid - nasty, disgusting stuff! Barff!

Welcome to the forum Andrew.

Not really a drinker myself though as Northerner says drinks seem to affect people differently. You're ideally placed with the Libre to see what and how much different beers affect you.

Hi and welcome to the forum. Can't really help on the beer front, I gave up beer several years ago. I've only had 1 pint of bitter since being diagnosed last August.
