Hi everyone I am new to the site I am a carer for my muminlaw who has type 2 diabetes I myself am awaiting results of my test my mum is 90 and has leg problems .i have just bought the circulation maxx leg revitaliser to try to ease her pain but a friend said don't use it can anyone tell me why ? Please

Hi Jenkal, welcome to the forum 🙂 I hope that the results of your test show that you are not diabetic. Whether it does or not, it is still worth following the principles of a diet suitable for people with diabetes, since this is a diet which is actually healthy for everyone!
I'm not sure why your friend says not to use the circulation booster, did they give a reason? I would suggest having a word with her GP to see if they can think of any reason she shouldn't use it. Many devices of this nature have a 'catch-all' disclaimer that they shouldn't be used by people with diabetes, but usually it will depend on the individual's own situation - it certainly sounds like a good idea to encourage good circulation 🙂

The problems diabetics get with their legs are not usually circulatory problems - they are problems with the nerves in the feet and legs.
We all have to be careful because if we have got this - it's called neuropathy - usually caused by too high blood glucose circulating round the extremities, not by poor circulation though that can make it worse - although the condition itself can cause pain - it may mean that we can't feel stuff a normal person does so if the nerve endings have died off, and you trod on a nail for instance - perhaps you wouldn't even know you'd done that until you or someone else saw it sticking out of your foot.
So it's most unwise to use anything that has not been either provided by the NHS or recommended by them specifically.
What does her GP say? He's the person you ought to ask, really.
