🙂Hi,Northerner thanks for your message i'm worried about getting too emotional when my sugars are low is it normal to be tearfull ?

Do you mean 'low' as in below 4mmol/L? Tearfulness is not a hypo symptom I've heard of much, people do often report getting anxious/slightly paranoid. Others find below 4's make them angry, so it appears that emotional states are certainly up for grabs when the brain goes on the fritz at low numbers!

I sometimes feel tearful when low. Because your brain is being starved of energy when you are low, this can manifest itself in many ways - some people become angry and aggressive, but I have never experienced that.

welcome to the forum 🙂

getting tearful when low is not something I've really experienced, but I'm not a crying person at all...I tend to get really spaced out and panicked. But Mike's right...it seems lots of people's symptons are some form of emotion.

Good luck

I tend to get almost on a high when my levels are about 11+ and then take a couple of glucors , if I take gliclazide ( like i'm supposed to) I start having more hypos , & then compensate with orange & lemonade or cerial bars but mostly i can manage pretty well sticking to my diet & the same amounts of excercise each day but it can still catch you out , its a real balancing act sometimes ,do differant carbos affect people in different ways ?
