Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
Hi there all, new to the forum.

I have had type 2 diabetes for the past 8 years, have been on Metformin and Byetta and have now progressed onto insulin - Novorapid and Levemir.
My blood sugars are still 15 in the mornings and go very high after eating despite many units of insulin. Clearly I am doing something wrong so hopefully will learn a great deal from all of you!:D

Look forward to getting to know you.

Hi and welcome to the forum Suka... im on the same meds or should i say i was im on byetta and met.

Hi Suka, welcome to the forum 🙂 What are your levels like before bed, and what times do you test after eating (and what are you eating?). Lots of questions, sorry! But it helps to get a picture of things so perhaps we can suggest areas that you could look at or discuss with your nurse/doctor to improve your levels.

There is a huge range of age and experience here, so it's prbably a fair bet that someone here has been through what you are going through now, and can hopefully help you out. Even though you've been diagnosed for a few years now, taking a frsh look at things can often throw up possibilities and ideas that you might not have considered before. I'd suggest having a look at the Useful Links thread for some good reading material and see how it matches up with the way you have been taught to manage your diabetes. If there is anything that you are not sure about, then please do ask and we'll try our best to help out! 🙂

Hi Suka. Welcome 🙂

Hope you can fine tune things very soon.

Rob

Hello and welcome to the forum🙂

As a fellow "newbie" I'd like to welcome you to the forum.
My blood sugars used to be predictable - now they're increasingly a mystery, probably due to age!
The world of Type 2 is alien to me but, by the sound of it, there are plenty of supporters with (hopefully) invaluable experience.
Keep trying and remember that you are human (at least, I presume you are😱)
