Hi I'm 41 and was diagnosed type 2 a couple of months ago, still very confused and a little down in the dumps (I know i shouldn't be ) Does anyone out there know where i can find info that is explained in laymans terms.🙂
Hi Junker, welcome to the forum 🙂 There is a lot to take in at first, but don't worry about trying to do and learn everything at once. There are some good links in here:
I'd particularly recommend the Gretchen Becker book. Anything you need to know about, we will try our best to help you with. There are lots of experienced and friendly people here, and no question is silly, so if it's troubling you then please ask away!
It's perfectly normal to still be shell-shocked after a couple of months, but things will sink in eventually and many people find that the diet and lifestyle modifications they make can work to make them feel much healthier than before diagnosis. Are you on any medication?

welcome to the forum you have every right to feel down its very difficult when you are first dx ...my emotions were all over the place ...have a good look around the forum and remember no question is regarded silly here x🙂
As Northey said have a look at those links and then start asking questions.
Another thing I found useful was a course run by the NHS called Diabetes X-Pert. It's a six week course for one afternoon a week. It gave me a really good foundation for controlling my symptoms. There are also other courses available (e.g. Desmond) but I don't know anything about those. Hopefully your GP or DSN will know whether these courses are available in your area.
I think that you're prefectly entitled to be confused and/or down in the dumps. Don't feel bad about that. If you have any questions do feel free to ask them.
Welcome to the forum the emotions you are feeling are very normal when just be diagnosed. The book that northerner recommends is very good and is written in a format that is easy to understand.
Any questions you have got just fire away this forum is great for getting advice.
