Hi there, new to this group, pre diabetic mixed with other complicated conditions
Welcome to the forum
Were you told what your HbA1C result is as that will indicate how close to the top of the 'at risk' zone which is 42-47mmol/mol. So where you are depends on how much you need to do but it is likely some modest changes in diet by reducing your carbohydrate intake.

Have a look at this link as there are meal plans to suit various tastes/ which will show you there is plenty you can eat. https://lowcarbfreshwell.com/ There is lots of good explanation about managing the condition with a sustainable approach.
Meals based on meat, fish, cheese, eggs, nuts, dairy as well as veg, salads, and fruit like berries will still give you plenty of options.

That seems quite a big difference in the two results as the 44 puts you 'at risk' but 37 is normal, which leaves you in a bit of a quandary. Did they give any explanation for such a big difference, I might expect a couple of mmol/mol but as much as that sounds a bit odd.

Did you get an "instant" answer from the one at the hospital? I know my local diabetes clinic can do an instant test (not had one myself) but may be it's not as accurate as one they send off to the lab for analysis? Just a thought...

Hi I’ve had 41 for a couple of years then 42 and 43 now 44. Seeing an endocrinologist about range of mixed symptoms in general and his was 37 I’m still having a few tests before I see him. I was curious if anyone had any thoughts as just seems odd? Thanks

Hi @Lainey40 , a warm welcome from me too 🙂, we're a friendly bunch here with lots of combined experience so really happy to support you, just ask away...

@Lainey40 you might find that you feel better on a lower carb diet, even if diabetes is not an issue.
I feel so much better than I did 10 or more years ago after decades of being badgered to 'eat a healthy diet' - it did make me hugely fat, and I'd had a high reading flagged 10 years before I was diagnosed type 2, but was never told about it.
These days I am stronger and more active and more able to cope with life, so I can only recommend this way of eating as being more sustaining than the regime being pushed on society in general.
