Hi! I’ve recently been diagnosed T2. Hoping to get iinto remission by losing weight and adopting healthier habits. I’ll be on the lookout for vegetarian recipe and snack ideas. Also need a kick up the butt to get me motivated xx
Welcome to the forum, please accept this complimentary virtual kick up the butt
Were you told your HbA1c? And are you on any diabetes meds. This may impact your meal plans.
One of the key things to remember is portion control. Switching to a smaller plate can help.
The other thing to remember is that your chosen method needs to work for you as a long term eating habit. A start/stop diet is ok to kick off weight loss, but you need a healthy way of eating to carry forward afterwards.
Any method of sensible, healthy eating works provided it contains a good variety of foods covering all the necessary nutrients. You can follow a specific plan, or you can use broad brushstrokes to focus on key factors to suit you.
Browse through a few posts and you will see specific plans
Have a look at the food section of the forum, we do have quite a few vegetarians who share their recipes and different things they try out on here. And plenty of motivation to go around too! If you'll feel comfortable, share your progress, victories and struggles - people here always support each other with advice, ideas, a listening ear or whatever else may be needed in the moment, and I find that sometimes sharing your goals with others provides a sense of accountability, even if it's done virtually😉
