Relationship to Diabetes
Type 1
Hello. I’ve been a member of Diabetes for a long time but never joined in on the forum. I have been diabetic for 60 years. I have 3 adult sons and 4 grandchildren and of course can’t leave out my husband of 41 years.
I use a solo pump and libre freestyle but am due to change to a hybrid closed loop system in the autumn
I love singing and play the piano ad guitar. I hope I can contribute at times but it’s late and sleep beckons.

Welcome @Lucky62 🙂 Interesting that you use the Solo pump. How are you finding it? How long have you been pumping?

Welcome to the forum @Lucky62 Great to have your wealth of experience on here.

I switched to a HCL system nearly four years ago and, after taking quite a while to trust it to do what I had been doing for ages, I now would never wanton go back. Whichever system you are offered there will be someone on here that can help answer any questions that arise.

I look forward to hearing more from you.

So do I though I'm 10+ years your senior and only 52 years since my diagnosis so was able to enjoy my childhood unhampered, it was getting married that unhinged my beta cells! (or it may have had more to do with a few orrible viruses but why split hairs ) Anyway currently on my 3rd pump and finally opted for another Combo at the last change cos I'd originally had one, but then changed to an Insight as 'my lot' were joined at the hip to Roche and though I could have gone for Medtronic or Tslim at that time the TSlim Rep advised me they were a waste of time without the Dexcom and there was No Chance Whatever then of me getting CGM and the Medtronic on offer was the 640 although the 780 had already been available elsewhere in England for a couple of years I finally said sod you then and had another Combo cos at least I was familiar with the thing. Trouble with me is all sorts of other stuff in my life cos although we've moved on from Bank of mum & dad and tried not to start Bank of Grandma & Grandad when they're in dire straits with disabled great grandkids, aaaarrgghh. LOL Two 50yo daughters, they produced 6 granddaughters and Tim - always was and always will be forever more our favourite grandson ! (His rotten dad explained that to him when he was about 10, mean sod that he was that day! 😡)
So anyway - I need to know more about which HCL you opt for in the end. Have they offered you Omnipod etc, or what? (just thinking the Solo's tubeless, isn't it? so maybe Omnipod is logical is all)
