Just like to say hi to everyone and looking forward to getting to know more about this thing I have been diagnosed with!
Hi @moisince23 how are you? Im Caz, nice to meet you. Im newly diagnosed myself, 3 weeks on WednesdayJust like to say hi to everyone and looking forward to getting to know more about this thing I have been diagnosed with!
Wow that's an amazing result well doneHi. I was diagnosed type 2, 3 months ago. Blood test result was 73, rechecked and was 78. Took my meds and got stuck into a diet and rechecked last week and was 34.
It would be quite usual to slowly introduce metformin after diagnosis to allow the body to adjust and help avoid stomach issues but if now after 3 months your HbA1C has come down to 34 mmol/mol and stays there in the normal range by your next check which should be after another 6 months then they may consider a reduction in the metformin if you are keeping up with the 'new way of eating'.I'm on Metformin, started with 500mg. Doc rang me after 2 weeks and didn't like some of the answers I gave to his questions and told me to double the meds to 1000mg. Haven't heard from him yet so I'll wait and see!
