Hi @moisince23 and welcome to the forum. We're sorry you've had to join us with a recent diagnosis, but we can certainly provide lots of support and advice!

Please feel free to tell us more about yourself, or ask away if you have any questions to begin with 🙂

Wow! what an amazing start @moisince23

Which meds were you taking? And have they suggested adjusting your medication given your reduction in HbA1c?

Welcome to the forum, and look forward to hearing more of your story 🙂

Similar story with me, diagnosed 3 months ago, result was at 80. Next blood test tomorrow

Welcome to the D-fam and hope you get the support you want from here, it’s great

I'm on Metformin, started with 500mg. Doc rang me after 2 weeks and didn't like some of the answers I gave to his questions and told me to double the meds to 1000mg. Haven't heard from him yet so I'll wait and see!

It would be quite usual to slowly introduce metformin after diagnosis to allow the body to adjust and help avoid stomach issues but if now after 3 months your HbA1C has come down to 34 mmol/mol and stays there in the normal range by your next check which should be after another 6 months then they may consider a reduction in the metformin if you are keeping up with the 'new way of eating'.
At 1000mg you were not on the maximum dose so have done really well.
