Hello @dinky dolphin and welcome.
The one good thing about type 2 that it responds to diet as long as your pancreas is producing insulin and not exhausted by its efforts.
I have two meals a day at about 12 hour intervals, both what I think of as 'proper' meals, so I don't have any concerns about finding something for breakfast. I exclude grain, potatoes and other high carb veges and also most fruits.
I like cauliflower cheese, mashed swede and also bubble and squeak made with the leftovers. I have stirfry and salad, also mixtures of veges - and mushrooms. I make desserts which are low carb. I can make low carb sponge and use real custard and cream for celebration trifles, or for icecream in hot weather.
With a bit of planning and selection of ingredients it is possible to make low carb breads and cakes or pastry for pies and suchlike, so there is little difficulty in finding something to eat. I bought a waffle maker, for cheese waffles, or 'chaffles' as they are called and they can be useful but even without the device the same mixtures can be used in a frying pan to make wraps.

Hi there Drummer thanks for the welcome and reply sounds like tour doing great.Im sure I can get to that point soon with a little help 🙂

You have to think of it as a new way of eating which is for the long term not A DIET so it has to be enjoyable and include the occasional treats which can be low carb but still satisfying.
Have a look at this link as it may give you a new outlook on a changing your regime. https://lowcarbfreshwell.co.uk/ It is a low carbohydrate approach with REAL food.

Totally agree and always say to myself it's a new way of eating never diet as it I feel makes the body go in to panic mode , I weighed around 10stone 4 and got down to 9st 21b had more energy and bp was better just need to get motivated thanks for the advice

Welcome to the forum @dinky dolphin

Hope you find encouragement and support here. We are all muddling along, finding our own way through the maze of options. There’s no ‘one size fits all’ approach to managing diabetes. We are all individuals, and our unique genetic make-up, metabolisms, gut biomes, not to mention personal preferences means that we all have to find our own way, that is effective and sustainable for us

We have a variety of members who have used different strategies and tactics to produce excellent results for them - some focussing in weight loss and low calorie approaches, others aiming for low carb, others using exercise and activity as a key ingredient.

Good luck in finding a path that takes you where you want to go 🙂
