Welcome @Colin g 🙂 I hope to hear some of your tips for living with Type 1 that long. I started to have burn-out after 25 years. It’s wearing sometimes. You must have got into a good routine over the years.

Hi Colin g, welcome to the forum.

Good to hear that you've found the forum useful and are now ready to join in! Is there anything we can help with at the moment?

If not, do make yourself at home, have a poke around the threads and give us a shout if you need anything.

Hi and welcome from me too.

Wow! In 55yrs you will have seen some changes! Hope you have some reasonably up to date kit now to help you manage your diabetes now..... Libre is particularly useful, so hope you have managed to get that prescribed or some other CGM. Are you MDI or pumping and which insulin(s) do you use? Look forward to getting to know more about you and hopefully learning from your extensive experience.

Yes seen a lot of changes over the years Started with glass syringes that had to be boiled after each use . Then moved to plastic ones . Now on pens Novo rapid and tresiba . Have a libre fibre sensor 1 which is brilliant Things seem to be heading in the right direction. Lost Three and a half kilos. H1bc down to6. 3 from 6.8 at beginning of the year Like everyone else have good days and bad days . Haven't been in hospital since 1981 with my diabetes. Someone above must be looking out for me as I live on my own . Well me and the dog

Hello and welcome Colin. I can beat your record as haven't been in hospital for diabetes since 1965 when diagnosed 🙂
Well done on your A1c reduction.
