Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
Hi everyone, just registered today but I have been diabetic for 40yrs.
I'm 69 now and am having diabetic related physical problems but also down to osteoarthritis.
I'm a positive person and enjoy talking and meeting people for a chat over coffee
Hope you are coping in this heat wave and I look forward to chatting with you.

Hi and welcome.

Wow! 40 years is a long time to have had Type 2! How do you manage it? Diet and exercise/oral meds and/or insulin? If medication or insulin, which ones do you use?

Sorry to hear that you are starting to suffer from diabetes complications. How is your BG control. Is there room to tighten it up a bit to reduce the risks of further deterioration. Do you monitor your BG levels for that matter? Here on the forum we are keen avocates for home testing as that gives you information and knowledge is power that allows you to take more control of your diabetes.

Anyway, I am pleased that you have found the forum and look forward t getting to know you better.

Hello and welcome to the forum from me too @Retiredlady69 - 40 years Wow.

And me with only nine weeks of being type2, I'm still a beginner with a lot to learn yet.......Stay Cool.
