Hi
Been type 1 for 35years but only just joining.
Welcome @C12 ,

Thank you so much for joining our community. What prompted you to join? Also, how have you been managing your diabetes for the last 35 years?

Welcome @C12 🙂 Do you have a pump or are you on injections? I’ve been Type 1 for almost 30 years and have had a pump for around 18 years.

Hello and welcome @C12 glad you’ve joined us 🙂

I hope the past 35 years of T1 have been kind to you. There’s some good tech around and coming through, are you using Libre , Dexcom or other cgm at present?

Hi
Thank you for your welcome. I started on twice daily injections then pen injections, pump and now just started on Medtrum Nano.

Welcome to the forum @C12

@helli is a member here who also uses a Medtrum pump I think, though I don’t know if it’s the Nano.

How are you finding it? Which pump(s) did you have before?

Thanks for the tag @everydayupsanddowns
Yes, I am now using the Medtrum Nano. I was one of the first in the UK to be upgraded to the Nano from the A6.

I recently started using the Medtrum CGM too. Unfortunately, I have to self fund at the moment but the price is similar (slightly less) than the Libre and the added advantage of the auto-basal suspend has been fantastic for me.

@C12 if you have any questions on the Nano, don't hesitate to ask.

Hi There @helli it has a lot of benefits like freedom from any lines but it has some development features which need ironing out. I had a combo before and I miss it. I don’t think I’ll stick with the Nano.

Which dev features do you miss from your Combo?
I had an Animas before the Medtrum and it is more feature rich than that but sometime sit is not too intuitive.

Nowt else in a tubed pump has a 'remote control' although I think the Omnipod PDM is slightly like one, except the PDM cannot do a BG test, so not a straight swap because you have to carry a separate meter and the PDM, tell the PDM the BG result and then it does the calculations, whereas us Accu-Chek people are used to only needing one extra thing to cart about. If we then have a Libre you have to have summat the scan that with too, so another thing to cart about. I'm old and don't constantly use a mobile phone as if my life depended on it and I object HUGELY to my life (potentially) actually depending on one! Still got to carry a separate meter anyway - more c**p - and big handbags are out of date .......

Hi
The nano sometimes doesn’t prime, it has to be next to the phone all the time or it turns off, insulin has to be at room temperature and it needs changing every couple of days.
With my combo I just whacked it on and it lasted a week or 10 days with hardly any issues in six years. Just had to change the cannula every three days.
