After about two months of having an ulcer near my ankle I have had blood tests and the reason it isn't healing well is that I am on the diabetic scale. I was 52 a month ago but then not diagnosed till a second test in which time I lost half stone and it came back as 48.
The pain in my ankle keeps me awake at night though I do take painkillers. I am hoping if I lose weight it will heal.

Hello @MARIGOLD ,

Thank you so much for joining our online community. I am so sorry to hear about your ulcer near your ankle. I can only imagine the you must be going through. I have read a few posts from people struggling with ulcers on their feet. Is it possible to ask your GP about your ulcer and possible healing solutions?

Welcome to the forum @MARIGOLD

Well done on your weight loss and your improved HbA1c

Hopefully as your BGs are coming down your natural healing processes should be restored.

Have you made changes to the amount of carbohydrates you are eating as part if your meal plan? All carbs (not just sugars) will raise your blood glucose levels, and reducing your carbohydrate intake so that your body can cope better with it should reduce your average BG and improve your body’s healing.

Let us know how you are getting on. Hope the pain subsides for you 🙂
