Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
Hi I’m new here. I was diagnosed with Type 2 end September 2021 and have been mudi g along on my own. I’ve done keto (until it raised cholesterol slightly) now low carb but struggle some days. I’ve lost 6st 4lb in weight over a year with 2 stone more to go. Any advice on foods would be welcome as I tend to eat an evening dinner then some plain yogurt or a few nuts. What breakfast is good (no eggs, I’m fed up with them)

Welcome to the forum
Unless you are vegetarian you could have bacon, mushrooms, tomatoes, high meat content sausages, avocado as a change from eggs or cheese and cooked meat for breakfast. I often have full fat Greek yoghurt with berries and about 15g of a low sugar granola or seeds or nuts.
Have a look at this link for some meal ideas. https://lowcarbfreshwell.co.uk/. It is a low carb (not keto) approach, quite a lot of meal ideas to suit a variety of tastes.
Well done on your weight loss, that is brilliant and you must be feeling fantastic and hopefully it has brought your HbA1C down as well.

Welcome to the forum @Linzi99

I’ve moved your thread into the Newbie’s board as I worried it might get a bit lost where it was 🙂

Well done on the weight loss! And good to hear you’ve adapted your menu to suit you better.

There are some low carb ideas from Diabetes UK here

And also some more general suggestions about different approaches to food in this downloadable e-book
