Hiya everyone!
I have a question, Wondering if anyone else's insulin doesn't seem to be working as well in the hotter weather?? Have been T1 since I was 12, so six years now and this has never happened to me to this extent.
Thanks in advance!

Hi and welcome to the forum too 🙂, where are you storing your insulin and do you know what the temperature in that particular area is? I had a bit of a problem although nothing major with mines last week but since I opened the window and let some cooler air in and changed my cartridge it seems to be ok (I've had to shut one of the windows now though as my mum was complaining about a draft 🙄) xx

Hi. It’s it possible the insulin could have been compromised .
I started a new cartridge of Novorapid this morning and it doesn’t seem to be working so well.

Might be worth trying a different vial/cartridge/pen. Often people find insulin *more* effective in hot weather but as always... Your Diabetes May Vary!

I always need more insulin in hot weather (as Mike says, it does vary from person to person!) but it may just be that your cartridge/pen got too hot. Are you storing it somewhere like a Frio? - I find that helps to keep it at a sensible temperature when the house gets hot.

Hi Cloe and welcome. I have had to adjust my insulin quite a lot since the warmer weather has arrived.
If your not sure if your insulin has been compromised change it for a new one. It seems there are a few
members having problems in the heat. :(. Take care.
