Hi everyone, I was diagnosed type 2 about a year ago, I was very close to reversing it but life got in the way and my bloods are sky high again. I'm on a roller coaster of emotions but I now have high cholesterol and Dr woukd like me to consider statins. This has upset me quiet a bit so I'm back on plan and focused. I've started testing my own blood sugar in the morning, which varies from 8.2 to 11.8. Any ideas how I can reduce this? Thank you

I’m presuming you mean you were diagnosed Type 2 @Cazzaraz ? You can edit your post by using the Edit button at the bottom left of your post.

Type 1 is incurable and can’t be reversed as it’s due to the auto-immune destruction of the beta cells in the pancreas.

What’s your blood sugar before you go to bed?

Welcome to the forum @Cazzaraz

Sorry to hear that your type 2 diabetes has taken a bit of a turn recently. :(

Which strategies were you using before to get it near remission?

Try not to be upset by the offer of cholesterol-lowering meds. Offering statins to people with diabetes is perfectly standard, particularly if they have some of the common effects which can accompany T2, and involve increased risks of cardiovascular disease, raised BP and blood fats.

Hope you can make some changes to help reduce your BG levels again.
