Relationship to Diabetes
Type 1
hi, I'm Jony 47yo type1, I got diagnosed with ITP about 12 years ago and all the steroids made me diabetic, I've been on tablets and one injection a day of slow insulin, but was really bad at injecting and went well over 2 years without injecting!! And eating exactly what I liked.

Now I'm off the tablets and on 3 injections of fast acting insulin and one evening injection of the slow, I'm being really good with my diet and keeping on top of my injections, learning to up my insulin, but still struggling with lows and really hate injecting , hopefully after I've done the Karen food course (got to wait till May!!) and proved I'm testing and eating well I'll be allowed a pump, there are only 2 available from my trust, so fingers crossed all goes well,
Thanks

All the best with all that, Jony.
As a Type 2 - only just - and trying to kill it by diet before it gets any worse, I'm just starting to understand what some others go through, when I see stories like yours it makes me feel very lucky and determined to kill this thing before it goes any further.
It sounds as though you're progressing well now so here's hoping you'll soon be out of the forest and into the clearing.
Best wishes
Graham

Hi @Jony Smith and welcome to the forum 🙂
We are a friendly bunch on here so please feel free to join in any threads that may take your interest, a few I can suggest are 'what did you eat yesterday', 'what have you done today that's isn't diabetes or work related', 'group 7 day waking average'
Also feel free to create any of your own threads asking any questions you may have etc or just for a general chit chat xx

Hi Johnny
As aT1 I am amazed that you lasted two years without injecting. Perhaps you had a few beta cells hanging on in there. Glad to hear that you are now doing well on your multiple daily injections. It makes life a lot more flexible and gives you much better management.
Do ask any questions you have. 5ere is a wealth of experience on here.
