Hi everyone. I was told about this site by Diabetes UK.
I've had type 1 for about 33 years and surprisingly I am still well.
I know that the Timesulin device works well but doesn't fit either of the pens I use. In the latest Balance I saw an ad for Insulcheck which does fit my pens. Does anyone have any comments on using Insulcheck?

Hi GTI Girl, welcome to the forum 🙂 I haven't tried that device - what insulin are you using? I have found the Novopen Demi very good as it has a reminder function built in. I believe it can be used with novorapid and levemir.
 
Hi GTI girl- we have an insulcheck which fits our clikstar lantus pen- it just shows how long since you last injected as we had forgotton if we had/hadnt!etc- its helped - welcome to the forum BTW

That's exactly the info. I needed. I sometimes can't remember whether I've had a jab - usually when I've got distracted - and it often leads to high blood glucose levels which I don't want even for a short time.

I used to use a Novopen and found it fine. But when I changed to Lantus (Sanofi-Aventis) and Humalog (Lilly) I was changed to Clickstar and Luxura HumaPen.
These work fine but the Insulcheck records the time your last injection was taken. So you can tell if you've forgotten to have a jab when eating.

Thanks for the welcome HOBIE. The GTI GIRL is a bit of a joke really as I for Injection applies to me and the car. I have had a Golf GTI for about 10 years. It is so reliable and speedy!

Greets GTI GIRL.

First car was a second-hand Austin A35. Or might have been a 30. One or other. Don't think it was a GTI though. 🙄 Had to push most of the journey home from sales forecourt. Door hinges were some kind of skin...snapped first night as I proudly showed interior off to mates. No idea what engine was like...never got it going. 😡 Bought a Honda motorbike next. Another story...
 
If you had them buggies now Lurch you would be worth a bit ! 🙂
